Starry Picnic Quilt, Megan Collins

The newest quilt pattern from Megan Collins Quilt Design is HERE and AMAZING!! Known for writing spectacular patterns with curves, Megan has recently released Starry Picnic, featuring a batch of stars overtaking a checkerboard backdrop. I could not love this more and I’m very happy it is out in the world for everyone to enjoy!

Starry Picnic Quilt QAL

Megan is hosting a quilt along for Starry Picnic starting July 24th. You can sign up here! Included are some excellent sponsors and prizes. We are very pleased to be included and participating!

Week 1 (7/24): Coco West Illustration
Week 2 (7/31): Kristin Quinn Creative
Week 3 (8/7): The Sparkly Elephant
Week 4 (8/14): Shannon Fraser Designs, Lou Orth Designs, & Sweet Potato Quilts
Week 6 (8/28): Trace Creek Quilting (That’s me!!)

The best part is Megan’s guidance for constructing this quilt, particularly her assistance in tackling these curves. I knew curves before I met Megan, but she helped me perfect and enjoy them!

During my pattern testing, I used Ruby Star Society’s Speckled fabrics because, well, why wouldn’t you? No surprise to those of you that know me that I used a microfiber backing for it’s spectacular softness. The cherry on the top, though, is this Vega Panto from Sew Shabby Quilting. The perfect twinkle addition to a super starry quilt!

What you really came here for, though, are the details of the discount! I don’t blame you, it’s a great quilt and I’m so excited to see yours!

Um, did you see these photos Megan got of her cover quilt?? Holy, moly are they good. I take quilts on vacation with me but that top main one is a just on a whole other level. One thing I really love is how she captures that quilting texture! We used the Bubble Clam panto, again from Sew Shabby Quilting, and it was a spectacular choice!
