Why We Quilt

Every quilter has a reason.

Maybe it's the feel of fabric under your fingers, the hum of the machine, or the quiet satisfaction of turning scraps into something beautiful. Maybe it’s how you connect to a grandparent, a tradition, or a community. Maybe it’s therapy. Maybe it’s art. Maybe it’s simply the best excuse to collect more fabric (collect sounds nicer than ‘hoard’, right?).

Here at Trace Creek Quilting, we’ve been thinking about the “why” behind the stitches. We’re surrounded by quilts and quilters every day and it never gets old hearing what really brings people to the cutting table. So we’re asking:

Whether your answer is heartfelt, humorous, or something in between, we’d love for you to use the button above or below to share. We will occasionally share some of these stories and photos throughout the year to celebrate the beautiful range of reasons behind this craft we all love. So go ahead—tell us your "why." Because every quilt has a story, and every quilter does too.
