Trace Creek Quilting 2022 Recap

Well, friends. That just about does it for 2022. While I’m super excited to move on to 2023 and all the promises it holds, I’d like to take a moment to look back on the past year at all the amazing things we have been able to do at Trace Creek Quilting!

First, you sent me so many quilts I had to bring a new longarmer online to handle the volume. That makes 3 of us working through your beautiful projects and having so much fun doing it. With their help we bumped up from 994 quilts last year to 1,394 quilts this year. WHAAAAAT?!? And if that didn’t blow your mind, how about this number: 6,249,317 square inches. That’s an acre of quilts. One. Acre. Of. Quilts.

I had an epic day this year when I quilted 22 quilts. You read that right. 22. Quilts. They were baby quilts, but it was a marathon that was quite the adventure! On the flip side, the biggest quilt we quilted was 111” x 124”! Wowza! We used over a mile of batting; overwhelming our bamboo blend vs the wool. About a third of you all like some assistance with the binding and here are your top 5 choices for pantos!

Top 5 Pantos of 2022

I have a few other tidbits for you that are just as fun. There are almost 700 of you (MWAH!) and you hail from 3 countries, plus a deployment (thank you for your service!) and 45 states. Now, I’m willing to forgive all the quilters in Hawaii, but where are my New Hampshire, Nevada, West Virginia and Wyoming folks?! Though now that I think of it, if Alaska can send one, so can Hawaii. You're back on the hook, beautiful island I will visit someday!

Instagram Favorites

I try not to have favorites but from your feedback on IG it’s clear there are some you really enjoyed. Here are a few that got a lot of love throughout the year. Be sure to click on the photos to see all the info about the quilt designer, maker, and the panto used!

After a little break to recharge we will be back in mid-January. I cannot wait to see what amazing projects are created in 2023. I’ve had a sneak peek at what is on the horizon and I think it’s going to be pretty epic! I feel extraordinarily lucky to be working with each and every one of you. Thank you for your trust, your support, and the opportunity to work on each and every one of your gorgeous creations. Take care, be well, and cheers to a Happy New Year!
