2023 Holiday/Winter Break Schedule

Important Information for Holiday Quilt Completion

There is nothing better than a homemade quilt gifted to a loved one during the holidays! We are here to help make that happen! Below is our timeline that ensures we get as many quilts as possible completed in time for your gift giving. Please know we will do our best to work with you throughout this busy time and early/often communication (as well as getting your quilt to us quickly) is the best recipe for success.

Important note for mail-in customers: USPS has predicted delays and longer shipping times than usual throughout the holiday season. Please keep this in mind when planning both to get your quilt to us and expecting it back!!

Timeline:
November 17th*: This is 3 weeks out from our first invoicing deadline and the last day for quilts to arrive in the studio and be guaranteed a holiday finish. It is assumed we will have until our final invoicing days (listed below) to complete these projects unless otherwise discussed or noted so be sure to let us know! Last year we were able to extend this deadline until right before Thanksgiving. While we hope to be able to do that again, we won’t know until closer to that time and encourage you to work with our current deadline in mind.
November 17th and beyond*: Quilts may still be submitted and we will do our best to turn them around before the holidays, but we are uncomfortable guaranteeing a holiday finish.
November 30th: Last day for Suzy Quilts Star Crossed quilts to arrive for the SAL discount as well as the holiday finish promise. (This is a special promotional deal we’ve worked out with the designer and is the only exception to the deadlines above.)
December 11th:
Last day for TCQ to invoice quilts that need to be mailed back to customers.
December 18th: Last day for TCQ to invoice quilts that will be picked up from the studio.
December 20th: Final open day in 2021. Quilts needed before January 8th must be picked up by this date.
December 21st - January 7th: TCQ studio closed and production paused. Quilts may certainly still be sent via the porch drop box and mail, but no prep work nor quilting will be taking place until we reopen. Our usual 4 week production timeline will start on January 8th for all projects that arrive during this time period.
January 8th - January 12th: TCQ will reopen and begin quilting all the quilts that were not addressed from November 13th-December 20th. We will also begin prepping and communicating with all the customers who sent quilts during our break.

*We realize folks may still have holiday orders they would like completed and we will certainly do our best! Last year we were able to accommodate everyone which was so lovely. However, after our cut off we are uncomfortable making any promises. Any project we cannot complete will be the first ones addressed when we return to work in January. During this time period, we reserve the right to move projects around our priority list in order to accommodate the most customers.

Any project that requires us to work outside of our usual parameters will incur a $50 rush fee. Please reach out to us to inquire about our current capacity, possibilities, and whether or not the rush fee will apply.
